Kanye West covers the March issue of Details magazine and says some pretty interesting things about music, his sexual addiction and the perception of gays. I don’t know why but I love to hear this man talk, and love reading his interviews even more. Here are a few excerpts:
Kanye on how he got into making beats“First beat I did was in seventh grade, on my computer. I got into doing beats for the video games I used to try to make. My game was very sexual. The main character was, like, a giant penis. It was like Mario Brothers, but the ghosts were, like, vaginas. Mind you, I’m 12 years old, and this is stuff 30-year-olds are programming. You’d have to draw in and program every little step—it literally took me all night to do a step, ’cause the penis, y’know, had little feet and eyes.”
Kanye West on his drive“People ask me a lot about my drive. I think it comes from, like, having a sexual addiction at a really young age. Look at the drive that people have to get sex—to dress like this and get a haircut and be in the club in the freezing cold at 3 A.M., the places they go to pick up a girl. If you can focus the energy into something valuable, put that into work ethic . . . ”
Kanye on losing his fanbaseThis game’s pass or fail. There’s no Bs, Cs, Ds. Either you bricked or you won, and this product’s gonna be an A. Fans out there don’t like it, ’cause of their own snobbery or instant rejection of Auto-Tune? A Buffalo, NY man who started a TV network to show Muslims in a positive light, beheaded his wife who provided the inspiration for the network, according to police.
Muzzammil Hassan, 44, is charged with 2nd degree murder in the brutal beheading of his wife Aasiya Z. Hassan, 37. The murder took place on Thursday (2/12) in the Orchard Park office of their company, Bridges TV.
The NPR (National Public Radio) profiled the Hassans in 2004. They talked about starting “A new cable network for Muslim-Americans” after 9/11 to “inform and entertain Muslims and, at the same time, give viewers who aren’t Muslims a glimpse into” their culture.
They described traveling from Buffalo to Detroit a few weeks after the September 11th terrorist attacks, and came up with the idea for the new network after hearing some “derogatory remarks about Muslims” on the car radio.
The couple separated last year and police say the victim had an order of protection against her estranged husband.
The murder weapon was not recovered.
Sri Lankan star M.I.A. (”Paper Planes”) gave birth to a boy, according to online reports via Contactmusic.com:
Indian gossip website DesiHits.com was the first to report the Paper Planes hitmaker, who performed on her due date at the Grammy Awards (08Feb09), gave birth to a baby boy on 12 February (09).
In a recent interview, the singer/rapper revealed she thought her child would be a boy, stating, “It doesn’t matter to me if it’s a boy or a girl. If it’s a girl she will be a tough girl, but I think I may have a boy because I have a pointy stomach.”M.I.A., real name Maya Arulpragasam, was so worried about going into labour at the Grammys, she had an ambulance, stretcher and golf cart on standby - and her fiance Benjamin Brewer used a stopwatch to time her contractions shortly after she came off stage following her performance with Jay-Z, T.I, Lil Wayne and Kanye West.
The baby’s dad, Ben Brewer, is the biracial son of Edgar Bronfman Jr., CEO of Warner Music Group, who comes from one of the wealthiest Jewish families in Canada.
Bronfman Jr.’s marriage to Brewer’s black mother, Sherry Brewer, was a source of contention between Edgar Jr. and his dad, Edgar Bronfman Sr., the wealthy heir to the Seagrams liquor fortune.
Bronfman Sr., considered by some to be racist, wrote in his memoirs:
“I very much wanted for him to end the relationship, because I told him, all marriages are difficult enough without the added stress of totally different backgrounds. Sherry offered to convert [to Judaism], which though well intentioned, was not the point.”
Edgar Jr. and Sherry had two more children before divorcing in 1991.

Beyonce’s covering the March ‘09 issue of Cosmo UK.
A snippet:
Despite being open about herself, Beyoncé is very private when it comes to her relationships:
“There are certain things that are kind of obvious, and if you start talking, the questions will never stop. I think there’s more to life than sharing it with everyone … At school, if I dated someone, I didn’t tell everyone. I fee like if everyone knows my stuff, it’ll take the beauty and pureness out of it.”This privacy extended to her wedding to Jay-Z last April which was a small private ceremony shrouded in secrecy:“I’ve never been the girl who went to a wedding and thought, ‘Oooh, I want to get married.’ So I didn’t want anything big and dramatic [for my wedding day] … And I think that people can put way too much emphasis on the day. It’s just so temporary and it goes in a second … I think it’s important for women to have their moment, whether it’s your prom or your birthday … but to me, marriage is not about that moment. It’s about something way deeper.”

Leonardo DiCapro The actor's off-again, on-again main squeeze, Bar Refaeli, is next month's Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue cover girl, according to a big ol' billboard in Manhattan.
The 23-year-old Israeli model broke out of the pack after languishing on the inside of the magazine's most buzzed-about installment for the past two years.
SI's cover, featuring Refaeli and her tan lines in a multicolored string bikini next to the tease line "Bikinis or nothing," was first unveiled during tonight's episode of the Late Show With David Letterman, which tapes at the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York, right across the street from the revealing billboard.
And in related news, authorities are responding to reports of a six-car collision across the street from the Ed Sullivan Theater

Chris Brown will not be rising from the ashes in Phoenix this weekend.
The R&B star, arrested last night for allegedly assaulting girlfriend Rihanna, has pulled out of his scheduled appearance Sunday at the 2009 NBA All-Star Game.
The 19-year-old had been tapped to introduce the players with Shaquille O'Neal before tip-off at Phoenix's US Airways Center. His "No Air" partner Jordin Sparks will be singing the national anthem.
"Chris Brown has withdrawn from NBA All-Star events," an NBA spokeswoman confirmed to E! News today.
The big-time basketball fan had also been planning to play Friday in the annual All-Star Celebrity Game, part of the weekend-long festivities.
The cancellation is no surprise considering both Brown and Rihanna scratched their scheduled performances at yesterday's Grammy Awards and Rihanna is expected to scrap a concert Friday in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Besides, any participation on Brown's part would surely be overshadowed by questions about really happened between him and his chart-topping girlfriend. Earlier Monday, gum purveyor Wrigley announced it was pulling all running advertisements for Doublemint Gum featuring the "Kiss Kiss" singer.

TI covers the March issue of Blender magazine and is featured inside with his adorable son Major. In the article, He reveals his been arrested atleast 32 times (I hope he was joking) and talks about how he will pass his time while in the pen.
“You stay to yourself as much as possible. Speak when spoken to. And just mind your business. You ain’t there to make friends. You just there to do your time and go home. Some luxuries are available in some facilities that aren’t available in others. Some facilities have a TV, but you can’t watch it ’cause cats in there wild out so much. I’ll read the Bible a lot. Biographies, magazines. I don’t really read fiction. I read for information, rather than for entertainment. I’ll talk on the phone a lot. I’ll spend a whole day on the phone, checkin’ on what’s goin’ on, makin’ sure things are taken care of. Ain’t a lot to do.”
After the media blitz that ensued after he was charged with one count felony criminal threats against his Rihanna on Sunday night, Chris Brown has another thing to worry about, his endorsement deals.
Wrigley gum has now suspended all advertisements featuring the R&B star, including the popular commercial that even played during the telecast of the 51st Grammy Awards.
A company spokesperson tells Us Weekly:
“Wrigley is concerned by the serious allegations made against Chris Brown. We believe Mr. Brown should be afforded the same due process as any citizen. However, we have made the decision to suspend the current advertising featuring Brown and any related marketing communications until the matter is resolved.”

Director Rachid Bouchareb, is setting up a movie on the early life of legendary civil rights
activist Angela Davis and in a recent interview with THR, he said he wants Beyonce to play the leading role:
“I want Beyonce Knowles
to play Angela Davis,” he said. “It’s a great dramatic role for her.”
Bouchareb, who will produce the movie through his French production company
, plans to shoot in summer 2010 with a budget in the region of $20 - $30 million.

Grammy award winning singer Usher canceled a Pre-Grammy appearance late Saturday to rush to Brazil where his wife Tameka Foster-Raymond suffered “complications from plastic surgery.”
A source close to Usher’s camp told Sandrarose.com last night that Tameka suffered “an emergency related to the plastic surgery,” but she is “fine now.”
According to published reports, neurosurgeon Dr. Gabriel Hunt of LA’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center was flown to Brazil to consult on the case.
The most likely reason that a neurosurgeon would be consulted is if the patient fails to wake up from the anesthesia. This type of emergency can occur when the patient receives too much anesthesia and not enough oxygen during the procedure.
Artists and adult entertainers routinely travel to Brazil to have plastic surgery performed by skilled surgeons at upscale clinic/resorts which offer both privacy and a luxurious setting for the patient to recuperate.
Brazilian doctors are also favored for the cheaper rates they charge.
Usher and Tameka have two children together. Naviyd Ely Raymond, was born in December 2008, and the couple’s first child, Usher Raymond V, was born in November 2007.

Tiger Woods‘ wife, Elin, gave birth on Sunday to their second child–a boy named Charlie Axel Woods. Their daughter Sam was born in 2007 (pictured above). These folks love ambiguous names. Tiger posted a statement on his website saying: “Both Charlie and Elin are doing great and we want to thank everyone for their sincere best wishes and kind thoughts.” Congrats to the couple!
Nas confirmed to MTV news on Sunday at the Grammy Awards, that he and Kelis are expecting a child and they will find out the sex of the baby soon:
“Yeah, man, I find out what it’s gonna be next week, so I’m happy,” said the rapper, who has a 15-year-old daughter from a previous relationship. “I got another one coming in ‘09, yeah! That’s what’s up!”
The news first broke out on US Weekly’s website last month that Kelis was currently in her first trimester. The two also celebrated their wedding anniversary in January.
representative for the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed late Sunday, Feb. 8 that popular singer Chris Brown, 19, turned himself in at the Wilshire Police Station on Sunday afternoon, in connection with an alleged domestic violence felony battery report.
The singer voluntarily turned himself in to be questioned and according to TMZ, he was arrested and charged with one count felony criminal threats. His bail was set at $50,000, which he paid and was subsequently released.
Officials are still declining to identify the injured party in the alleged assault and Brown’s court date is scheduled for March 5th.
As stated, Chris Brown and his reported girlfriend Rihanna both cancelled their scheduled Grammy appearances and performances on Sunday night.
Above is a photo of Rihanna and Chris Brown leaving Clive Davis’ Pre-Grammy party in his rented Lamborghini on early Sunday morning, just minutes before the alleged attack on an “unidentified victim” in the same car. Sources say, they left the party speeding by their hotel - and ended up in Hancock Park.
Various media outlets are confirming that Rihanna (birth name Robyn Rihanna Fenty) is the reported victim, as everyone speculated. The LAPD is expected to give a briefing on the case later on this evening (PST).
As we reported, Chris has been charged with one count felony criminal threats (which could result in up to 9 years in prison) and is expected to appear in court on March 5th.

Kellogg likes its flakes frosted, not baked.
A couple days after Michael Phelps apologized for being photographed with a marijuana pipe, the cereal maker says it has dropped the 14-time Olympic gold medalist as a spokesman.
"We originally built the relationship with Michael, as well as the other Olympic athletes, to support our association with the U.S. Olympic team," a rep for the Battle Creek, Mich.-based company said Thursday, and the swimmer's recent behavior is "not consistent with the image of Kellogg."
Their contract with Phelps is set to expire at the end of this month. At press time, the 23-year-old also has a sponsorship deal with Subway, which has declined to comment on its golden boy's slip-up.
Also Thursday, USA Swimming, the sport's governing body in the U.S., suspended Phelps from competition for three months to teach the lad a lesson.
"This is not a situation where any anti-doping rule was violated, but we decided to send a strong message to Michael because he disappointed so many people, particularly the hundreds of thousands of USA Swimming member kids who look up to him as a role model and a hero," the federation said in a statement.
"Michael has voluntarily accepted this reprimand and has committed to earn back our trust."
"It's times like these where you really do get true support, and I've really been able to find out who my friends and family are," Phelps told E! News before the dual announcements were made. "That was some bad judgment, bad mistakes, and I'm all over it."
Phelps, who showed up on boxes of Kellogg's Corn Flakes and Frosted Flakes after winning a record eight gold medals at the Beijing Olympics last summer, publicly apologized Tuesday for not just saying no to drugs after the British tabloid News of the World published a pic of him appearing to smoke pot at a party last fall.
"I engaged in behavior which was regrettable and demonstrated bad judgment," Phelps said in a statement. "I'm 23 years old, and, despite the successes I've had in the pool, I acted in a youthful and inappropriate way, not in a manner people have come to expect from me. For this, I am sorry. I promise my fans and the public it will not happen again."
He then made the smart move of averting attention to whether he'll compete in the 2012 Olympic Games or not.

There are at least two men with whom Christian Bale is not professionally done: Los Angeles DJs Kevin and Bean.
After a week of unrelenting press coverage in the wake of his leaked onset rant, Bale unexpectedly chose to break his silence over the incident on KROQ radio's popular morning show, taking full responsibility for his Terminator: Salvation explosion.
"It's been a miserable week for me," Bale told hosts Kevin Ryder and Gene "Bean" Baxter. "Listen, I know I have a potty mouth, everybody knows this now.
"The thing that I really want to stress is I have no confusion whatsoever. I was out of order beyond belief. I was way out of order. I acted like a punk. I regret that.
"There is nobody that has heard that tape that's been hit harder by it than me. I make no excuses for it. It is unexcusable. I hope that that is absolutely clear."
As for what brought on the much-played rant, Bale said that the day's shooting was particularly intense and that he "puts so much into what I do and care so much about it and sometimes the enthusiasm just goes awry."
"I'm embarrassed by it. I ask everybody to sit down and ask themselves, have they ever had a bad day and have they ever lost their temper and really regretted it immensely."
Not that he doesn't understand the public's insatiable desire to hear—and mock and remix—the audio.
"Feel free to make fun of me at my expense, I deserve it completely.
Bale, who could easily have chosen any worldwide media out to deliver his mea culpa, said he selected KROQ because had been listening to the morning show's mockery and incessant playing of his rant all week.
"I spoke with you guys a few years back, you seem like good guys and I wanted to talk with you about it," he said, before adding that the deejays' take on his rant made him laugh. "Believe me, this is no punk."
Kevin and Bean, meanwhile, had a slightly more humbling take on why they were chosen.
"You can talk to a guy who tries to high-five a blind dude or you can talk to Kevin and Bean, those are your options in the morning," they said.
(For those doubting the validity of the scoop, Bale's rep Jennifer Allen has confirmed that it was the actor, and not the station's dead-on Bale impersonator, Ralph Garman.)
As for any residual hard feelings between Bale and the object of his onset rant, the actor said it ceased being an issue shortly after the outburst.
"We have resolved this completely...I have no intention of getting anyone fired. There is no problem whatsoever."
The "Hollaback Girl" is about to have to hand it back.
Several hooded sweatshirts from Gwen Stefani's Harajuku Lovers children's clothing line have been recalled by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission—and not because they are killer fashion in the good way.
The commission charges that "the jackets have a drawstring through the hood which can pose a strangulation hazard to children," although no such incidents have been reported.
The voluntary recall suggests purchasers of the RSL Hoodie and Lovers Leopard styles trim off the ties or return them for a full, $75 refund. The jackets were sold in Macy's, Nordstrom and other retailers from August 2008 to January 2009.
No doubt the singer is relieved son Kingston Rossdale, 2, is more of a tee and tank top kind of guy.

Grammy-nominated singer Janelle Monáe was spotted leaving the Viper Room in LA after watching a live performance by Solange Knowles on Wednesday night.
The eclectic singer is up for a Grammy in the ‘Best Urban/Alternative Performance’ category for her song ‘Many Moons’.. Go Janelle!

Lil Wayne’s response to going by just Wayne vs. DeWayne
I dropped the D because I’m a Jr. and my father is living but he’s not in my life….And he’s never been in my life. So I DON’T want to be DeWayne. I’d rather be Wayne…
Katie: Does he know that
Wayne: He knows now…
Lil Wayne’s response to whether he should ease up on the weed
“I’m a rapper. That’s who I am Ms. Katie. And I am a gangsta. And I do what I want. And I love to smoke…
Lil Wayne’s response to being a role model
“I’m not an example how to live your life. If you need an example for how to live, you shouldn’t have been born.”
Katie also got gansta and asked Wayne about his addiction to Syrup. He claimed that the syrup made his stomach hurt really bad and that he’s not addicted to it anymore. When asked about the weed he says “I will stand up for Marijuana any day. I have migraines that make me want to just kill myself “. Is that what the doctors are prescribing now???
Surprisingly Lil Wayne came off as very intriguing in this interview, although some would beg to differ. Is it me or did Katie want a piece of that La la la la lollipop!
Singers Janelle Monáe and Solange Knowles attended the 5th Annual Black Eyed Peas Peapod Foundation Benefit Concert at the Conga Room in LA last night. Wasn’t a BEP family member shot recently? It sure doesn’t seem like it. Everyone looked to be in a festive mood. Anyway, let’s talk about Janelle Monáe for a second. Remember she signed a deal with career killer Sean Combs last year? Well, there is still no word on when her album will drop. We tried to warn Janelle but no one listens to us. But how about Solange’s unique style? Isn’t she killin’ it?! LOVE the basket weave black and white open toe booties!

President Obama is covering the March issue of Vanity Fair. Nice.

Supermodel Sessilee Lopez is best known for being one of the four cover models of ’08s famed Vogue Italia “Black Issue”. And now she’s rocking the pages of Latina magazineand talking about the rumors of her being Kanye West’s new chick and other ish.

Singers Fergie and Keyshia Cole chat it up at the Vanity Fair and Krug dinner at the Chateau Marmont on Thursday night in West Hollywood, California. Dang Keyshia is getting those exclusive invites now, that’s wassup!
Rihanna and her best friend Melisa were spotted shopping at the Grove in Los Angeles on Thursday afternoon. The singer also hit up a Boutique opening on La Cienega Boulevard later on that night.
Etta James has lashed out at Beyonce weeks after Beyonce sang her classic song “At Last” for the Obamas’ first dance at the Neighborhood Inaugural Ball last month.
At a concert in Seattle last week, James told the crowd:
“I tell you that woman he had singing for him, singing my song, she gonna get her ass whooped,” sarcastically calling her “The great Beyoncé.”
And she went on.
“I can’t stand Beyoncé… [she] had no business … singing my song that I been singing forever.”
She even dissed the President:“You know your President, right? You know the one with the big ears? He ain’t my President.”
Beyonce played James in “Cadillac Records,” and they seemed chummy at the premiere (pictured above) last December. James was unable to attend the inauguration for health reasons.

what is the alternative cover of the March issue of Vibe Magazine, singer Keyshia Cole and her biological mother Frankie Lons cover the annual Style Issue.
Keyshia was interviewed in Los Angeles where she discussed the changes in her life — from her style and attitude to her new teeth — and why she is working on becoming a better person. Both Keyshia and Frankie talk fashion:

Keyshia on Fashion
..She is “getting turned off by the names, the print [logos] and all that” comes with designer fashion. She says, “I got money now. I don’t have to prove to anybody that I have money by wearing a handbag.

Frankie on Fashion
